Sidney Museum was established in 1971 with a mandate to acquire, preserve and make available the heritage, culture and interests of the Saanich Peninsula. It has proudly served the Saanich Peninsula community ever since. The Archives act as the repository for the Peninsula News Review (Black Press Media), and earlier iterations of this local newspaper dating to 1912. This resource is an important record of social, cultural, industrial and economic events for the Saanich Peninsula and Gulf Islands.
