HERB DETWILLER has played a lot of cribbage during his lifetime. “Sometimes |
play every day,” he said, But last week was only the second time in his card
career he's pulled off a 29 hand, the highest possible, “The last time was, oh, 20
or 30 years ago,” he said as he displayed the combo which had given him the un-
toppable tally. Herb held on to the jack of hearts and three fives, then saw the five
of hearts come up as the hole card. Adding a little extra spice to the achievement
was pulling it off against Alf Defrane, the Legion’s ond crib champion. Was he

going ta buy a lottery ticket on the way home? “You bet!"
