These include tee-shirts with the clown on them and enamelled pins and best of all our won- derful art poster by renowned Canadian artist Robert Genn. Itis BEAUTIFUL and we are certain you will all love it!! If you want further details, please let us know. The organizers, “we”, are teachers and parents involved in Surrey’s French Immersion Programme All of us are enthusiastically committed to the suc- cess of La Féte Colombienne des Enfants. John Stewart, our Managing Director, was responsible for the foundation of Camp Alexandra as a community centre and is a businessman with two daughters in Immersion. Gérald Tibbits has tworoles: a primary Immersion teacher and a father of two teenage sons in Immersion. Another parent with two children in Immersion is Kate Merry, an active CPF member. René Généreux is a producer for CBC television and he also has two children in Immersion. We are delighted to welcome to our Board of Directors Susie Green of the Joy of Movement School of Dance who is also a parent with three children in Immersion. Maxine Hartline is our liaison with Crescent Beach Community Services, our parent organization. We are now Officially a registered, non-profit charitable organization. Donations to La Féte are tax-deduct- ible and most welcome! Events like La Féte rely upon the support of volun- teers and we will be needing many! Please let us know if you want to help. Even those in outlying areas can help with fundraising for your local stu- dents and for us. We now have a new phone number 531-1611. We’re sorry for the inconvenience but our success has necessitated more phone lines. Please do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions, prob- lems, ideas or simply want to say Hi! La Féte Colombienne des Enfants is a festival for children and as much as possible by children. We en- courage your children to get involved! This will be a great time and opportunity to use the language they are working so hard to embrace and enjoy. For those of you who may not have received the first issue of Le Jongleur, which describes our overall plans, we still have copies available. Please let us know if you would like one.
