Fuel tax rate hiked Changes in provincial tax rates on petroleum fuels, effective July 1, 1988, have been announced by the Minister of Finance. The changes result from indexing of provincial tax rates for petroleum products. The indexing March, 1981 provincial budget an ponent of the Vancouver Consumer Price Index. Handicapped persons who qualify will continue to receive a re- fund of the full amount of tax paid on gasoline and diesel fuel. The next quarterly review of provincial fuel tax rates will take ef- fect October 1, 1988.
