Community _— It will be a party, Celtic style, when Deep Cove Folk Club pre- sents its second annual ceilidh this Friday. The festivities start at 7:30 p.m. and continue until dusk in the orchard behind the hall at St. John’s United Church, 10990 West Saanich Road, North Saanich. Scottish country dancers will demonstrate their skills and teach a few dances followed by the popular Barley Bree in concert. Barley Bree will also play for some country dances called by Yvonne Thompson. The whole family is welcome. Bring a lawn chair, a mug for refreshments, friends and family. Guest speaker will be Enk Davis, who will talk about greenhouses and the plants grown in greenhouses, focusing on geraniums and orchids. New members and visitors are welcome. July 10 CYCLE TOUR Join 400 visiting cyclists from Canada and the USA fora salmon BBQ at Sanscha Hall from 5 pm to 8 pm. July 11 COUNTRY MARKET The Peninsula Country Market is open at the old Saanichton Fairgounds, off East Saanich Road, from 9 am to 1 pm. There will be 50 stalls with vegetables, soft fruit, honey, locally-made crafts plus musicians and Scottish Country dancers. Food, fun and entertainment — and no admission charge. Visitors may also visit the pioneer log cabin. Free parking on the grounds. CYCLE TOUR Join 400 visiting cyclists from Canada and the USA for a pancake breakfast at Sanscha Hall from 8 am to 10 am. July 15 * CYCLE TOUR The Big Island Cycle Tour’s visit to Sidney winds up with a community crab bake at Bandstand Park (foot of Beacon) from 5:30 to 9 pm. Bicycle races will be held the same day. BIBLE SCHOOL Registrations are now being accepted for Peace Lutheran Church’s vacation bible school, to be held at the church, 2295 Weiler, from July 20 to 24.
