bh .¢ News _ Award-winning band set pace for inspection The award-winning 676 Kitty- hawk Squadron Band set the scene with a lively and humorous set as the air cadets celebrated another busy year with the 34th annual inspection program Saturday even- ing. The band, winners of the Mili- tary “B” Division competition at CEB Chilliwack earlier in the year, entertained officers, cadets, parents and friends of the squadron with an upbeat performance, featuring the jazzy strains of “Broadway.” The drill team, under the watch- ful-eye of Warrant Officer Glynn Bates, turned in an impressive display during the squadron march past and in a later drill display. Reviewing Officer, Col. James Gibbon. (Ret’d) inspected the 675 Kittyhawk Squadron, commanded by Captain W.A. Fullbrook. The British Columbia Air Cadet League was represented at the inspection program by Lieutenant ~ Colonel Miskiman and the PAC Region representative was Captain K. McDonald. Echoing the Tight hearted spirit of the day’s events was the First Aid display in which cadets simu- — lated emergency medical proce- ~ dures within a comic sketch which ue saw them fishing for a shark which bit the hand off one of the First Aid team. If the delivery was haphazard, the skills which helped the team to first place in Wing competition were still in evidence. The presentation of awards included one to Warrant Officer - Second Class Bates for Exemplary Achievement and was followed by Michaluk given renewal on ERB Former North Saanich mayor Linda Michaluk was confirmed as chairman of the Environmental Review Board for a second two- year term June 4.
