| Sports The Review - Wednesday, May 20, 1992 — A35 ” Personal bests posted by weekend tracksters The Peninsula Track and Field Club enjoyed considerable success with a string of medals matched by a long list of personal bests during a weekend track meet at Parkland School. The Peninsula club co- hosted the event with the Duncan Track Club. It was a dream start for 20-year- old Dan Lally, running in the Seniors division in his first meet for Peninsula. Lally tumed in two personal bests to win the 800-m in 2:23.5 and the 3,000-m in 10:09:2. Another of the big performers was 11-year-old Greg Dingle, an exciting prospect who won six events: 100-m, 200-m, 400-m, -=-500-m, 80-m hurdles and the long jump. He was also placed third in the shot putt. Mathew Baker (12), normally a longer distance runner, made the transition down to shorter dis- tances with ease, winning the 400- m in 66.8 and the 800-m in 2:24.0 as well as the 1,500-m steeple- chase. He was also second in the 200-m hurdles and third in both the 100-m and 200-m events. Not to be outdone, the girls also had a triple-gold winner in Megan Anderson (12) who won the 100- m, 200-m and long jump. Ten-year-old Shannon Marshall won both her 100-m and 200-m events as well as taking silver in the 400-m, shot putt and hurdles and bronze in the long jump. Julie Foster won two golds, in the 80-m hurdles and the shot putt, as well as placing second in the 200-m and long jump and third in the 100-m.
