News TheReview Wednesday, April 8, 1992 — A5 Former employees still wait for Wesiern Aluminum wages Former employees of Western Aluminum Craft are still waiting for payment of wages and holiday pay almost three years after the company’s assets were seized in July 1989. Ed Wall, public affairs director with the Employment Standards branch of the Ministry of Labour said the branch “is trying to estimate the assets that can be seized, or whether there are any.” A former foreman with the com- pany told The Review that he is still owed about $2,800 for three weeks wages and holiday pay. About 45 other employees are wed similar amounts. Wall said “the court decided that Revenue Canada had stronger priority than either our branch or the Workers’ Compensation Board.” Regarding claims made by employees, the branch is “looking into them but wouldn’t like to comment. It’s not our job to cast shadows on anyone at this point.” A meeting s held in Sidney JESUS CHRIST, played by Daniel. Former owners of the company, Russell Crawford and John Stan- ners, are believed to be working in the Greater Victoria area.
