OCEAN TALK

The Institute of Ocean Sciences, 9860
West Saanich Road, North Saanich, offers a
free program in the auditorium at 2 pm
presented by Dr. Peter Thompson, Institute
of Ocean Sciences, on physiological
responses of phytoplankton to variations in
light and temperature.

BULLS EYE!

The first general meeting of the Saanich
Peninsula Archery Club will be held in
Lions Hall, 6994 East Saanich Road,
starting at 7:30 pm. Open to all those
interested in any aspect of archery, includ-
ing target archery, hunting, field and fun.
Beginners welcome. Lessons and equip-
ment rental and purchase will be available.

STORYTIME

Pre-school storytime starts at 10:30 am
in the Sidney-North Saanich Branch of the
Vancouver Island Regional Library for a
six-week session. This free program is
open to three to five-year-olds. Pre-

A Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic will be

A poetry reading by Margaret Black-
wood, Anne M. Kelly and Kerry Slavens
from their new collection, Gravity and

A beginners class in Scottish country
dancing will be held in the Central Saanich

The Navy League cadet corps starts a
new training season in January. Boys and
