Beacon Avenue in the 1940's, Sidney may have its traffic problems on Beacon Avenue but
@- at least we no longer have to deal with ferry traffic line-ups along the main street. A very

long line of cars waits for the Anacortes ferry, which left from the Beacon Avenue wharf for
years before a new terminal was built at the end of Second Street. Wooden sidewalks are
