i 2 News TheReview Wednesday, November 27,1991 — A5 North Saanich’s stance against exploring the possibility of Sid- ney s annexing property on McDonald Park Road was met with disappointment by Sidney council Monday. Two affordable housing projects were Slated for the North Saanich property, but they need to be connected to Sidney’s sewage sys- tem. Annexation, or amalgamation, was seen as a possible solution by Sidney council, which earlier voted against providing sewer ser- Vice. Ald. Don Amos said rather than amalgamation, a more appropriate No action on affordable housing term for what Sidney proposed was “boundary adjustment.” However, North Saanich voted against any negotiation with Sid- ney, Sidney aldermen had been under the assumption their North Saanich counterparts would at least be willing to consider it. “We have to begin to talk about these things and from time to time we're going to have to make adjustments with these things,” said Ald. Ferry employee lost at sea Sidney RCMP are investigating the disappearance of a B.C. Ferry crew members who went missing from the 5 p.m. sailing from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen, Nov. 19. An extensive search of the Active Pass area and other waters northeast of Sidney failed to tum up Geoffrey Ewan Harris, 26 of . Port Coquitlam. Police found the man’s clothing on the ferry’s car deck and his shoes were discovered in the upper lounge. Five B.C. Ferry vessels, the Can- adian Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary, aircraft coordinated by the Victoria Rescue Coordination Centre and other emergency per- sonnel were involved in the search that ended about 11:30 p.m. Nov. 19, then resumed Wednesday moming. Police were continuing to inves- tigate the man’s disappearance.
