Travis has been me organizing catalyst behind the Victoria Sports Hall of Fame. She decided something had to be done when she discovered a Victoria sports memento wasn’t on display at the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame in Vancouver. The item was the soccer ball used in a game between Fulham, an English First Division side, and the Victoria All-Stars in 1951. Victoria won the game 1-0, with Travis’ father, Ab, scoring the lone goal, Canada’s first against a First Division team. She said the board’s first meet- ing is scheduled for Nov. 12, where a three- to five-year busi- “hess plan will be set in motion. Travis said work has begun now in the hopes of having a display set up in time for the Commonwealth Games. “We certainly hope to be part of the Games,” she said. “We want to be the repository for the Common- wealth Games.” WEST WIND HARDWOOD INC.
