About an hour earlier, at 4:55 a.m. Oct. 8, a large rock was thrown threw the window of B and B Auto Supply at Keating Cross- toad and West Saanich Road, causing the audible alarm to be activated, Central Saanich police said. Nothing was taken. About ten minutes later, (5:05 a.m. Oct. 8) a window to the gift store in the Brentwood Shopping Centre, below the Best Value Motel in the 7200-block West Saanich, was smashed and a piece of sterling silver jewelry valued at $200 was taken.
