NO ONE KNOWS who is preparing to show up at the Cancer
Society’s Halloween dance Oc?f. 26 — but these characters

are coming.

Dress up for
Cancer Society
Halloween party

Drag out your dress-up duds and
prepare for an evening of fun at the
Cancer Society’s Halloween din-
ner and dance Oct. 25.

There will be prizes, a guest
speaker, a dinner and a dance at
Columbo’s Restaurant in Saani-

chton, starting with-a no-host bar —

at 6 p.m.

Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. _

and ‘dancing will follow.

There. will be door prizes and
draws for various prizes donated
by the local community.

Many. of the. prizes are dinners
donated by local restaurants: The
two door prizes are gift baskets
filled with a variety of items
assembled by. cancer society vol-
unteers.

- “It’s really for people to enjoy
themselves and really have fun,”
said volunteer Bill Draper.

Tickets are $25 per person and
are available at Columbo’s, 652-
3936, or at the Peninsula Branch
of the Cancer Society, 655-1311.

Proceeds will go to support
Canadian Cancer Society pro-
grams.

“Cancer, because it touches one
in three people and affects lives, is
very important,” Draper said.

“Cancer is a killer and its going
to be more of a killer as the
population gets older.”

Programs supported by the local
society include volunteer drivers
and a visiting program which
gives support to cancer patients
and families.
