CORRIE MOROZOFF New ad rep The Review welcomed a new advertising representative to the Peninsula this week. Corrie Morozoff joined the Staff after making the move from Saskatchewan just in time to avoid the long, cold winter. She was most recently an advertising consultant with the Regina Leader-Post, a daily newspaper. .| She worked at The Leader- Post for two years, beginning as a classified advertising repre- sentative before being pro- moted to display advertising consultant. Morozoff, a native of Canora, a town located about 200 kilo- meters northeast of Regina, has a business administration diploma from a technical insti- tute in Saskatchewan. Her duties at The Review cover Sidney and all areas of the Peninsula. Continued from Page A$ inherent in the Ministry of Trans- portations’s proposal. These proposals were sent to the Ministry of Highways in Decem- ber 1990. The reply from Hon. Rita Johnston, then Highways Minister was to refuse to pursue any discussion with Sidney on these proposals or, for that matter, to co-operate at all. Meanwhile the Town of Sidney hired Mr. Derek Wild, a Victoria- based traffic consultant. Mr. Wild agreed with the Town’s position that Ministry’s plans were unac- ceptable in serving Sidney’s needs. It was also agreed to seek alternative connections to the Pat Bay Highway other than with one major interchange. These alternatives, which were orginally submitted to the Minis- try in December 1989, were based on the need to preserve and enhance the present character of Sidney, in particular the very important central business district anchored on Beacon Avenue. ~ These four alternative proposals were again given to the Ministry officials at a meeting of the Town’s transportation committee with Derek Wild in August, 1991. - The CRD Transportation Study is a welcome and important first step. By next January or February, Stefaniak hopes to have a better estimate on when the school will be completed. A completion date of October 1992 will require different plan- ning than a completion date of January 1993, Stefaniak explained.
