Cooperation lowers impaired fine A police report noting James Diffin was “uncharacteristically remorseful” and cooperative after being arrested for impaired dnving April 7 brought a minimum fine in Sidney provincial court Thursday. Crown counsel Nick Lang said Diffin was stopped by Central Saanich police at about 12:50 a.m. on Keating Crossroad after police noted Diffin’s vehicle weaving in the lane. Diffin failed a roadside screening test and had two readings of .19 per cent when given a breathalyzer test. The 30-year-old Sidney resident pleaded guilty to the charge. Defence lawyer James Irwin said Diffin was living in Brentwood at the time of the offence but has since moved to Sidney to be Triple Supreme closer to work once he loses his licence.
