Ke Sidney seniors top craft show Sidney seniors swept the classes in the Vancouver Island Ceramic Association show last weekend, returning with ribbons and tro- phies in a variety of crafts, includ- ing ceramics, lapidary and wood- working. The competition, held in Parks- ville, was open to both amateur and professional crafts people. Sixteen local seniors, members of the Silver Threads Centre in Sidney, collected class and divi- sion honors for their work. The centre offers workshops for lapidary, ceramics and woodwork- ing. Winners included Jan Paul, Syl- via Barker, Doris Venables, Emie Smyth, Barbara Garside, Katie Tillson, Ray Cunningham and Floris Whiting. : Also honored was work by Lil- lian Fletcher, May Thompson, Helen Chambers, Vivian Umbach, Del Jackson, Jane Brocklebank, Mable Slow and Pat Niven.
