News Wednesday, May 8,1991 — AI1 _ Local cade? in Ottawa ceremony Sea Cadet Dave Sorsdahl of Brentwood participated in a spe- cial Ceremony of the Flags per- formance in Ottawa May 4 and 5. Sorsdahl was chosen to repre- sent the Admiral Budge Sea Cadets in the ceremony on Parlia- ment Hill. One cadet from each corps across Canada participated in the ceremony to commemorate sea cadets gaining the right to use the title “Royal” in the organiza- tion’s name 50 years ago. A three-year member of cadets, Qualified Petty Officer 2nd class Sorsdahl is a member of the rifle and sailing team and a Grade 10 student at Stelly’s. He has completed the eight- week engineers’ course at Cadet Camp Pat Bay, qualifying him to perform all engine room duties aboard 75-foot naval training ves- sels. Admiral Budge Sea Cadets are open to young people aged 12 to 19 and meet Wednesday evenings Starting at 6:30 p.m. at the airport. Programs included a shipwrights program, band instruction, sur- vival course, ceremonial and sum- mer camps. Visitors are welcome. For information call 652-1568 or 656-3344. OFF TO OTTAWA May 4 and 5 stamp salesman Police in Central Saanich are looking for more information about Canada Post stamps that may be stolen. About 5:30 p.m. April 25, a retail shop owner in Saanichton was approached by a man who offered to sell about $150 worth of stamps for $60, deputy police Chief George Lawson said.
