The museum’s file identifies them as William and Charles Reay, twins who were born in 1820 and who seftled in this area in 1859. The photograph is dated c. 1850. However, in 1850 the brothers would have been 30 years old — quife a few years older than the two in the above photo. With a liftle detective work if was discovered that the orginal photograph-was an ambrotype, an early glass plate negative invented in the early 1850’s. So... who are these two? If you can identity them or if you have a photograph of William and Charles Reay please callthe museum at 656-1322.
