Held in the Margaret Vaughan- Birch Hall in Sidney, the show featured slides on Northern B.C. and the Yukon, taken by Cy and Mary Hampson, as well as a film on the arctic coast. Before and after the show, Save the Children Fund volunteers sold home-baking, jams, jellies, dried flowers, crafts and Save the Chil- dren Fund Christmas Cards. Admission was by donation and included tea. Over 140 people attended, either for the 2 p.m. or the 7 p.m. show. The evening show also included scenes from the nursing station and native community of Watson Lake in the Yukon. Twice a year the Sidney group sends clothing and quilts to that community. Money raised during the day will go towards supporting the eight families in Asia, Africa and South America and the nursery school sponsored by the Sidney group. ~ Sidney.
