16. The musical revolves
around a dimly lit cabaretin

is an American writer (Paul
Totzke) who meets and falls in
love with one of the cabaret per-
formers, Sally Bowles (Cynthia
Dynowski).

Jewish beau, trying to find love
in a Germany becoming
dominated by the Nazis.

Director and choreographer
Bill Johnston, making his debut
with VOS, joins music director
Charles Harman for the VOS’s
45th year.

The VOS, evolving from the

Gilbert and Sullivan Society,
has grown from its original six
to more than 150 members. The
cast, production and backstage
crews are all local amateurs.

In the spring of 1991, VOS
presents Man of Mancha fol-
lowed by Fiddler on the Roof in

the fall.

Cabaret runs every Thursday,
Friday and Saturday evening

two for the price of one, Sunday
matinee November 18. On open-
ing night, the society is hosting
a champagne reception follow-
ing the performance, allowing
the audience to meet the cast.
