general meeting Thursday.

The PCA now has enough

for a two month period in the event

of an emergency, Wyatt said.

The multi-year funding with
United Way will allow more lee-
way as it will be two years before
PCA has to apply for funding —

About 60 people attended the
annual general meeting to hear
Wyatt’s comments, reports from
the program coordinators and wit-
ness the installation of five new
board members.

Marjorie Denroche, Coordinator
of Volunteer Services described
the PCA Thrift Shop as “a true
recycling operation.”

The shop raised $33,500 for
PCA programs last year, through
the efforts of the volunteers who
receive and sort donations in the
depot and the volunteers who run
the shop Monday to Saturday.

Denroche reported volunteer
drivers drove 42,000 kilometres
for clients and over 20,000 volun-

The Annual Christmas Fair
raises about $9,000 in three days
and all tables were booked by May
this year. This event benefits PCA,
crafts people and the public alike,
Denroche said.

Guest speaker, John Noble
spoke on health and related social
issues in the community. Heading
his talk “Who Are You From?”
Mr. Noble covered a broad area
from individual health concems to
environmental concems.
