Minister refuses meeting There will be no more public meetings on the highway upgrade proposals for Lands End Road and the Pat Bay Highway, Minister of Highways Rita Johnston said in a July 12 letter to North Saanich council. Council had requested a public information meeting on the high- Way upgrade. “1am sorry to report that I am unable to support your Tequest,” Johnston wrote. She noted public information sessions were held at the municipal hall in which people were invited to fill in question- naires on the highway upgrade. A liaison committee has been established with representatives from the Curteis Road and Lands End Road areas, she said. “Should the people in these areas wish further input on the project, they should be encouraged to contact their representatives on this committee,”’ Johnston sug- gested.
