A group of residents dedicated
to the future of the Town of Sidney
formed a citizens’ group last week.

The Sidney Ratepayers Associa-
tion was registered under the
Societies Act last week, founding
member and former alderman Jim
Lang said:

“We want to get more people
interested in the affairs of the
community, instead of having a 20
per cent turnout for elections,”
Lang said.

“Qur emphasis is in a positive
frame of mind in the interest of the

association include a cross section
of the business community, an
ex-MP. two former aldermen and a

taxpayer.

“We want to be constructive, not
destructive,” Land said. “With a
lot of new people moving here we
want them to be aware of what’s
going on.”

A date for a founding meeting of
the association has not been set.

MP Don Munro, former aldermen
Cy Relph and Lang, Sidney busi-
