The Sidney-North Saanich and Brentwood-Central Saanich branches of the Vancouver Island Regional Library system will be closed from June 18 to July 7. “We hope that people will bor- Tow enough books to tide them over while we are closed and that they won’t forget us,” said Mary Magrega, assistant director for Support services. When the library systems re- opens July 9, the loan period will be extended from two weeks until three weeks. Magrega predicts the computer- ized system will allow faster and more efficient service on borrow- ers’ requests for items which must be brought in from other regional libraries, The computer will also maintain the files of books on loan or overdue.
