Look ahead to soccer registration Peninsula Soccer Association is holding registration through June for players aged five to 18 who want to play in the Lower Island Soccer Association League. Last year, some 408 soccer enthusiasts were registered Peninsula players and the asso- ciation hopes even more young- sters will sign up this year, association registrar Norm Friesen said. Last season, a number of Peninsula teams qualified for playoff rounds and one team, Magic Colour, was extremely successful, he said. Division 6 team Magic Col- ‘our won the Lower Island championship, the Island championship, the Region 1 title, and placed runner up in the Coastal championship final, he said. For more information about how to register, call Norm Frie- sen at 656 0099. Brian McDermid, Shawn O’Neil and Jake Martin were all voted outstanding players in their division, he said. With five assists in the medal- winning game, Luc Bonneau also deserved high praise, Ashley said.
