It’s full steam ahead for the
Saanich Historical Artifacts
Society this weekend during the
annual summer fair.

The grounds off the Pat Bay
Highway in Central Saanich will
be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
for the fifth annual fair.

“We sort of roll out the red
carpet for everyone and to the best
of our ability we will have every-
thing running,” said society presi-
dent Art Gardner.

There will be demonstrations of
bookbinding throughout the week-
end, hay rides pulled by horses or
a tractor and farm animals on the
site.

A popular attraction is the
Country Kitchen, offering home-
made soup, bread, cookies and
