Boat, moior missing

In two unrelated incidents, a
boat motor was taken from a home
on Ardmore Drive and an eight-
foot dinghy was reported missing
from Piers Island.

The 1975 40 horsepower John-
son worth $2,000 was taken from
the 700-block Ardmore Drive,

DOG DAYS

Some of us have pets either through careful consideration before
choosing while others may find themselves, suddenly, and with no

very dissimilar breeds of dogs have been selected.

“A Dog Owner's Guide to Yorkshire Terriers” is expertly written by
Jackie Ransom, a member of the Kennel Club and an international
judge. Ransom covers history of the breed, veterinary care, training
(house and lead), diet recommendations and much more, as well as
show systems from the U.S. and United Kingdom. The book
is accompanied with a generous supply of photographs and
illustrations.

Coming with a recommendation from the Doberman Pinscher Club
of America, “The New Doberman Pinscher” by Joanna Walker and
other noted authorities carries complete information on this very
popular breed. Subjects covered include history of the breed,
physical structure, temperament testing and observation, standards
and more.

These books are a very small sampling of what is available at
Tanners. They carry books on a wide range of breeds and on
different levels to accommodate pet owners of all ages.

While it's always best to be prepared before you get a dog, it’s
