The debate continues: where do you put the whale, Sidney council continues to have a whale-sized problem with giving the local museum a name. The most recent selection was . Sidney Museum - Marine Mam- mal and Historical. Council had actually accepted the name. But the motion was rescinded for reconsideration, Jan. 8, apparently because not every- body on the museum advisory committee likes it. It was, however, the committee’s anyway? choice. Said Ald. Herb Addison in com- ~ mittee-of-the-whole Monday: “Yes, it’s more enticing to get people off the highway to say Sidney Whale Museum. But it isn’t the choice of the committee and I think we should go along with them.” But Ald. Ben Ethier said, “The thing is we’re not satisfying the whole committee.” Addison said the term “whales” doesn’t represent the other exhib- its in the museum. The great museum name hunt has been sent back to the museum advisory committee. ‘Let’s get it right: do they want the name whale in there or not?’ Said Ald. John Calder, “‘Let’s get it right: do they want the name whale in there or not?” He added, however, that he thinks the last choice was the right one. It would “‘be shortened to Sidney Museum in time.” TheReview Three local organizations funded by United Way, the Penin- sula Community Association, the Mt.
