Besides taking home the big and little trophies, Andy also earned a gold button for his catch as he isa member of the Cowichan Salmon Club. I was following Andy in the bay and thought his manner af angling was indeed very sport- smanlike. He was not entrance to. the river where hundreds of big salmon were jumping ‘to the.amazement of a larger number. of -pecple who used many methods to try and catch them. Very few were successful as the salmon weren't interested. Andy made his catch in the middle of the bay using a bucktail fly and no weight on Hight rod and line.
