given a champagne-christening
by Mrs. Viola Creaser, wife of
Insp. .K.S. Creaser, officer in
charge of marine services on the
West Coast.

Powered by twin diesel
engines, the ''Regina”™’ follows the
trend to smaller. faster boats. for
coast patrol work. Costing in
excess of $50.600 the boat was
designed and built by Canoe Cove
Marina Ltd. and features a low-
cut..transom to -assure fast
launching of the 15-foot fibreglass
dinghy fitted aboard.

welcomed Visitors and

enterprising Marina builders.

For Centennial Awards

All babies born during the first-71 minutes of July 20, 1971. British
Columbia's 100th birthday in Canadian Confederation. will receive one
hundred Centennial dollar coins from the British Columbia Centennial

‘71 Committee, it is announced by L: J. Wallace, general chairman.

“This‘is our way of honoring the. Province’s newest: citizens in
Confederation Centennial year,’ Mr. Wallace said: ‘On July 20.1971,
British Columbia will mark the 100th anniversary of entry into Con-
federation. From. the last stroke of ‘midnight, July 19,1971, tovr:1i
a.m., July 20, every boy and girl born in British Columbia will be the
recipient of $100 in Canadian dollar coins which are to be minted next
year commemorating the Centennial.” .

Mr: Wallace said the co-operation of the medical profession and
hospital administrators will make it possible for the Provincial:
Centennial Committee.to keep an accurate record of births and times:

“He: emphasized. the recognition will apply everywhere in the

Province during the first.71 minutes of July 20, 1971 — “from midnight,

duly 19 to: l:1l.a.m,: July 20. :
