50 Years Ago

Master F. Stephens had a
narrow escape one evening last
week, and it was only by presence
of mind that a serious injury was
averted. He was -riding his
bicycle from Tod Inlet along the
road which leads to Brentwood
when a metor car carrying no
lights collided with his wheel and
threw him on top of the radiator.
There he clung until the car was
brought to.a standstill. Save for a
few minor. bruises the boy was
uninjured, but the front wheel of
his bicycle was damaged beyond
repair.

Fulford Harbour .-- It was a
grand fishing day if the fish had
only. been ‘around; the weather
was perfect but the fishermen
were out from dawn to late af-
ternoon with hardly a nibble. Mr.
A.V. Hunter of Ganges, came in
with the Ist. prize catch -a 4 1b. 2
oz. salmon and he won the
Langley Cup for the year and a
sleeping bag.

Ladies first. was won by Mrs.
Herb Skuce, with a 1 1b. salmon.
From then on in we will just
mention the prize winners. (Mrs.
Skuce. by the way, won a sleeping
bag.)
