of the Saanich Peninsula Art Centre at Sanscha on Saturday and
Sunday, May 9 and 10, from 12-noon to 8 p.m.; says this vear’s
convenor, Mrs. Kay Ratcliffe. Herself a painter of note wha
Mrs. Ratcliffe promises. ‘‘a busy. busy
time” for visitors to the show which will cover the whole field of
art and crafts and will include numerous. demonstrations.
“There will be something going on every minute of the show.”
Mrs. Ratcliffe said. In addition: to approximately 300 paintings
there will be pottery, wood carving ceramics. weaving, hand-
craft jewelery and the like. Demonstrations of the varoius crafts
will include the operation of a potters’s wheel. Indian mask
carving, spinning and weaving: And painters will set up easels —

and Crippled Children. To the
delight of the children they
dedicated one of their songs
“Dominique’’ to a small patient
of the same name. They. per-
formed at an entertainment
centre known as Giardello’s and
at The Cannery, a great barn of a
building. part of the history of the
city, now renovated. for. public
use:
