Courses in seamanship, engineering, ropework, sailing and construction (in preparation for boat construction), first aid and. gunnery augment the ‘‘straight-backed”’ and ‘‘tiddly”’ parade ground activities. Every boy is going ahead in his chosen course, some not quite understanding this new-found “‘purpose’’. But all are realizing that they can choose and. go ahead. with something ac- ceptable.
