JUNE 6 VOTE DEFINITE?
NOT SO SAYS GALBRAITH

Weekend press reports that Central Saanich ratepayers will vote on
a new sewerage referendum on June 6 were denied by Mayor A.-M.
Galbraith on Monday. He pointed out that June 6 is the earliest date on
which the question may again be put to the voters according to the
Municipal Act, but this was not a firm date for a vote.

‘It was again emphasized in council that any suggestions from the
public for the improvement of the sewerage plan will be welcomed by
the special sewerage advisory. committee headed by Alderman. Don

MacLaurin.

Referring to the defeat of the December 6 referendum, Mayor A. AM.
Galbraith said it is of the utmost importance that the ratepayers be

informed as quickly as possible of new proposals. Authorized press
releases will be made from time to time, he stated.
