S| sd) NY ui — Se THE REVIEW Page 9 Wednesday, July 30, 1975 TALK. ofthe TOWN How is the peninsula water shortage affecting you? KAY CLARK Central Saanich We live in Central Saanich, so we can water every other day. Our grass is dying, but it will come back in the fall. MARILYN REXILIOUS Sidney We live on Wain Road and all our neighbours have well water so we're careful. We water our garden with rinse water from the washing machine. FRANK BOWER Sidney We aren’t affected at all. It doesn’t affect me. We have four barrels for rainwater. MARGARET STOFFLES ~ Sidney We can’t water our lawn, although we're rather proud of it. There is - too much water ' wasted in swimming pools — I think they use about 2000 gallons twice a week. JOHN HALWARD Sidney If I’d known about the water situation before, I don’t know if we’d have settled here or not — I think it’s time councils and elected represen- tatives did something about it. BILL BAMFORD Sidney We don’t wash our car we haven't even watered the garden. Sauce: In order to set aside the fears of many residents, appreciative of , things nautical, who had heard contrary, we are announcing officially that the H.P. Sauce - will be in the Great Sidney Rowing Review. We have made arrangements to use a Slightly larger craft; last years entry was rated at 3000 lbs. of herring, this year’s - 5000 lbs. This has naturally required more crew and some difficulty has been encountered in gathering a full complement, no doubt due to the very limited number of stalwarts not only in fit physical shape but mentally able to accept such a challenge. Contrary to rumour, we will not be using the 17 H.P. out board that someone smuggled aboard last year.’ It has been recommended by the executive that a practice be held this year but this has been turned down by the crew who blame last year’s defeat on the practice run held two nights prior to the - race. Any person wishing to present themselves for scrutiny for possible ac- ceptance to the crew list may obtain details at the Admiral’s office, 656-2572. Admiral Mike Sealey Sidney approximately ly 25 trees and shrubs have been stolen from the property during the past week. Sidney RCMP are in- vestigating.
