Council will pay-no further sums this year for trail projects although one local resident, Basil: Parker, head of outdoor clubs numbering 1500 members, has requested several improvements. Council did agree however to inspect a number of ‘‘trouble spots’’. Ald. Margaret Salt, chairman of the parks committee listed the followi.g projects and. costs: installation of .a culvert on Hagan’s Creek at Malcolm Rd. Tomlinson trail $200, backfill for 50 yards of the same trail $375 and grading of the Hovey Rd. ravine trail-for 50 yards, $64. The ravine entrance by Cen- tennial Park is one of the top priorities says Mr. Parker. It is “enormous and ugly’’ dump, a hazard = to. youngsters and old people. Heated argument took place during the Council committee meeting over whether or not the Hovey Rd. culvert and fill had been sanctioned by Council.
