The various facets of extra-
sensory perception, generally
known as E.S.P. are numerous.
So many are there that it would
be difficult to list or count them.
People who possess a_con-
sciousness of one or more aspects
of this phenomena have quite
often had this gift from: early
childhood, and in their early
years assumed that. everyone
could do, see, or experience what
they did. For many a child the
most shattering experience has
been the discovery that they were
different from those around
them, especially their parents.
‘For many it meant punishment
or ridicule when they told of what
they saw or heard. People who
love their pets, whether dogs,
cats, or horses, often give them
more. consideration than many
parents have given their children
in these matters of the mind.
Children come into the worid with
‘gifts and powers that need to be
cherished and nourished. William
Wordsworth said it beautifully
when he wrote “Intimations of
Immortality’’. Consider these
lines, ‘“‘The Soul that rises with
us, our life’s star, hath had
elsewhere its setting, and cometh
from afar: Not in ° entire
forgetfulness, and not in utter
nakedness, but trailing clouds of

glory do we come from’ God who

is our home.”

‘We are at last emerging from
that social darkness where these
gifts of extra sensory perception
must be suppressed or hidden.
With hundreds of books on the
raarket telling of these things by

well-known writers and people

who have established a good
‘reputation in public positions.

including many such, and movies
portraying such manifestations,
such as the recent picture, ‘On A

need to be ashamed or afraid of
others learning of one’s gift,
should he or she be fortunate
enough to have. one.

Medical doctors are in some:
cases using hypnosis, as are
psychiatrists for diagnosis and
are finding it a useful means of
discovering the causes which
brought about the effects they are
treating. But this is only a poor
substitute for a seeing eye, one
that can see where the problem
is, anywhere in the body. This
was an important:facet of Edgar
Cayce’s work. Unfortunately the -
medical . profession persecuted
him for many years, and they
still are persecuting many. who
use E.S.P. in healing work. They
will tell: you that they are
protecting the public from fraud
and the dangers of quack. prac-
tices. That they. have and are
misusing these controls is evident
in the fact that a large proportion ©
of .the medical profession no
longer belong to the . medica]
association.

The value of E.S.P. faculties in
healing sick bodies and minds is
only. just being .re-discovered,
and that is only one of the many
ways human kind can.and will
benefit when some of these doors
in the mind are allowed to open
and let new understanding and
light permeate the fog in which
we are groping.
