CLEAN-UP

North Saanich Council. Monday
heard a letter from the South
Island District. Department of

Indian: Affairs and: Northern
Development stating that - the
District. office was contacting
their regional office requesting
funds for a clean-up of a logged
area onthe. Cole Bay Indian
Reserve.

The. matter was initially
brought to’ Council’s attention
“several weeks ago on receipt of a.
letter of. complaint. from. .aréa
resident. Timothy. Hives. The
Municipal Council has no
jurisdiction in this area’ and thus

forwarded Mr. Hives’ letter to the -

Department , of Indian Affairs
with the request that some action
‘be taken,

_ adequately cleaned up in the

past.

for volleyball, family badminton,
and perhaps roller skating. Those
interested in the new
programmes: may. get further
information at Sanscha, at Town
Hail or in The Review.

Some activities already under
way still have a few vacancies,
Those interested are asked to see
the schedule calendar and con-
tact the instructors of the classes.
