Pacific Command biennial meeting was given by Mrs. M. Chappuis at the -monthly meeting of the Saanich Peninsula Branch No.37, The Royal Canadian Legion L.A. This: meeting was - held ~ at Chilliwack, which had gone all out to meet the tremendous demands on billeting, feeding and - entertaining the influx of delegates. 224 official and 292 fraternal delegates from -127 Auxiliaries checked in on ~Sun- day, May 2, and there. were 105 Union Jacks and Colours at -the were billeted as far away as Harrison Hot Springs, 20. miles, but an excellent shuitle system of uses and courtesy cars kept wthings rolling. The highlight “banquet catered to 600 at a “smorgasbord which. was ex- cellently organized. ; There are 162 Auxiliaries in the. - Province, with a. total mem-. the: year and annual. reports - showed-a’ total: of $574,787 was raised and spent on Legion and} community. projects. Many: Suggestions. were given for _Taising money. Mrs. Chappuis brought back a detailed accounts of the question and-answer periods, also results --of © resolutions presented. Mrs. Hemens also reported that the Sunshine Box of personal donations is still in good shape, although quite a few. purchases had: been . made - lately... Mrs. Hemens was thanked for taking — care of the gift of a cup and saucer to one of the L.A. mem- bers, Mrs... Vivian (Cowan) Wallace, recently married.
