trailer club is your answer.
Perhaps you have tried tenting
and found it hard to erect a tent
in the rain without any. help.

The next step then for a hap-
pier vacation is a. shelter on
wheels. There are tent trailers,
travel trailers, campers. and
motor homes. All types to fit all
budgets.

Here again, once you have a
“home on wheels,’ you have to
decide whether to ‘‘lone-wolf it,”’

petting. away from it all alone,
and perhaps running — into
unexpected problems while in the
wilderness, or join up with
kindred. spirits who enjoy being
with people..The type that help
you when you have problems
with a hitch or a flat tire.

There are many trailer clubs in
B. C. who havea common bond of
trailering. They’ join up with
friend and neighbors to spend
weekends and holidays together.
They enjoy the pleasure. of the
outdoors with other people.

the growth of many trailer clubs

_ OYSTER gathering is part of the outdoor recreational
fun on the Pacific Coast. The Pacific oyster, a large type .
of mollusk, can be found in all areas of southern B.C.
coast,.on boulders and rocky beaches. Best. time to
harvest them is low tide. You need ’an. oyster: shucker,
bought at any hardware store, a chisel or screwdriver,
anda sack. Pry them -off-the.rocks.:To open-insert’a
sharp blade at the hinge of the shell. Try your favorite
oyster recipe or eat them raw with vinegar. These
oysters were in a cove near.Campbell River.

The B. C. Division of ITTCA is

completed its fourth season of a
ten-week night schoo! course.

Purpose of the course was to
assist and advise the students in
buying of a trailer, camper,
motor home, etc. The. course
included hitches, tires, rules of
the road, care of the rig, club
activities, how.to form clubs, and
enjoy the outdoors in group
activities.

night school course of its type in
Canada or the U. S.A.

Our association with trailer
clubs that are members of [TT-
CA has broadened our scope of
friendship with our. trailering
neighbors in the United States.

Most trailer clubs operate with
a minimum: of rules - and
regulations. There are usually
planned activities for the whole
family, on weekend outings, but
generally it is left up to the
discretion of the individual as to
whether he wishes to participate.

Clubs plan their outings so they

may have a couple of get-
togethers a month. The distance
from home is usually within a
radius of 100 miles. This allows
for an easy drive out on a Friday ©
evening and. arrival home
Sunday afternoon or evening.

T must emphasize that it really
doesn’t. make. much. difference
what you do on a weekend outing,
the main interest is the people
you are with.

This is what trailer clubs are
ail about, getting together with
friends and enjoying the com-
pany of others in the great out-
doors.
