But this man knew not the the tribes, their condition, or the nature of the dispute; but with the limited in- formation given to him he prepared and submitted a proposal. In due time he who sits on the “‘Right Hand’’ of the Great. Chief. called .a meeting of the Elders of the two tribes and “‘The Right.” Hand" presided at’ this’ ’ meeting. - And “The Right Hand" questioned the Elders and made some changes ac- cording to: their. replies. And the sun arose, the days passed and. the sun set; and the tribes received a copy of a new decree. “The Right Hand” of the Great Chief said ‘‘this. will be presented to the Great Chief. and-by him to the Great Tribal Pow-wow. This shall be the law, this the decree of the ‘‘Great Chief”’.
