THE CGRPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM REPORT TO COUNCIL Memorandum February 17, 1994 To: Jim Maitland Acting City Administrator Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director Subject: Purchase of a Dehumidifier RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. To purchase and install a dehumidifier in the old arena at an estimated cost of $13,260. 2. That the moris for this purchase be taken from the maintenance reserve account. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: On Tuesday, February 15th, in the late afternoon, the dehumidifier, in the old arena, suffered a burnout. This equipment has been in tive old arena for 15 years. Normally there are two dehumidifiers in each arena. Since one has bumed out, we are now operating with one; it is essential to have two dehumidifiers in ordex to take care of the condensation. Therefore due to the emergency we have ordered a new dehumidifier that will be in place in approximately three weeks. The cost to purchase this equipment is normally taken from the equipment reserve fund.
