Park Development

With reference to your September 21st, 1989 report concerning the
above noted subject this will advice that at the regular Council Committee
meeting held on September 25th, 1989 the Council adopted the following
recommendations:

a) That $300, 000 be earmarked from the sale of the 18 acres of
city owned land; (Lot 1, Section 7, Township 40, Pian 74406
New Westminster District) for the development of the park
outlined in the attached report.

b) That the development of the park not proceed until
completion of the master plan.”

All members of Council were present at the meeting and dissenting
votes were cast by Alderman Farnworth and Wright. These two Alderman believed
that no action should be taken on the subject until after the Parks Master
Plan had been considered.

It was, however, the understanding of Council that, in fact, no action
will be taken to spend the money earmarked by your recommendation until the
Park Master Plan has been considered.
