Through substantial consultation with staff, the architects have developed a project that minimizes any potential negative impact from additionai traffic in this area, provides sufficient parking for the facility, provides pedestrian access between Mary Hill Road and a possible future commuter rail station on Kingsway and opens the front of the pbuilding into a Public Plaza that should become one of the focal points in the Downtown Area. COMMENTS FROM OTHER DEPARTMENTS: Engineering Department: 1. Marv Hill Road is to reconstructed along the frontage of the site. This will include 7.0 m of asphalt ()/2 rd + 1.0 m) barrier curb and gutter complete with catch basins and storm main as required and concrete sidewalk. The existing utility poles adjacent to the frontage on Mary Hill Road are to be relocated. McAllister Avenue from Kingsway to the west to be constructed as access to the site. This will include 8.5 m wide asphalt roadway with barrier type curb and gutter on both sides of the road. Ornamental street lighting will be required if the on-site lighting system does not supply the appropriate lighting level. The existing 200 dia. sanitary sewer will require relocation if necessary as a result of structure placement. The existing entrance off of Wilson will require the removal of some extruded curb, widening as required and the elimination of the parking area used by the Medical Center.
