Each presentation varies according to the requirements of the institution where the workshop or demonstration is taking Place. - Among those whose needs are addressed by the Center are city public works and parks departments, schools, hospitals, restaurants and markets, landscape, plant nursery and architectual businesses, the private pest control industry, and policy makers in government and private institutions. ' In addition, the Canter serves the general public througn phone and mail responses to requests for information. The most Frequently asked questions receive prepared responses by mail; unusual problems that require research or site visits are handled individually as time and resources permit. One of the Center's major resources, in addition to extensive literature and slide collections, is a computerized data base that contains information on the natural enemies of major U.S. shade tree pests and a smal] number of additional key urban pests. The Technical Assistance Center is a part of the Center for the Integration of Applied Sciences, a Division of the John Muir Institute. 1307 Acton Street, Berkeley, CA 94706 3/5/80
