/2. May 3rd, 1976 the status of the Coquitlam Hospital project, and stating that the Council's support in accepting a motion to continue with the hospital project would be appreciated. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as requested in a letter from the Coquitlam and District Hospital, April 13th, 1976, the continuance of the Coquitlam Hospital project be approved and supported; AND THAT the Coquitlam and District Hospital be requested to state its view with respect to construction of an extended care unit as a first phase of the Hospital project. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Mayor Campbell advised that the Coquitlam Hospital project is probably the highest priority of the Hospital Advisory Board of the Greater Vancouver Regional District, but implementation depends on the money situation; however, Alderman Traboulay stated he would like to have some definite statement from the Minister of Health as to the status of the project. Mayor Campbell advised he thought a policy statement would be forthcoming in the next short while; further, it had been suggested that an extended care unit be constructed as a first phase of the project. From the Boy Scouts of Canada, April 13th, 1976, requesting permission Apple Day, etc. to hold its annual Apple Day on October ist and 2nd, 1976 and to display banners announcing the event two weeks prior thereto on both the South and North sides of the Shaughnessy Street underpass. Moved ty Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That as requested in a latter from the Boy Scouts of Canada, April 18th, 1976, permission be granted to that organization to hold its annual Apple Yay in the City on October lst and 2nd, 1976, and to display banners announcing the event two weeks prior thereto on both the South and North sides of the Shaughnessy Street underpass. City of Port From the City of Port Moody, April 22nd, 1976, advising that the Moody re Kiwanis | Walkathon following resolution was passed at the April 20th, 1976 Council meeting with respect to the May 16th, 1976 Kiwanis Club Walkathon: "THAT the City of Port Moody challenge the City of Port Coquitlam and the District of Coquitlam as to which municipality will raise the most pledges for this endeavour AND THAT the loser be obliged to provide refreshments immediately following the event.”
