Three fraternal delegates spoke at the convention. They were, Guy Shavvau from the Union of Communist Youth of France Francisca Garcia from the Soc- ialist Youth of Cuba, and Dan- ny Brown from the Commun- ist Youth of the U.S.A. The three day convention laid out a substantial plan of work and a twenty-one mem- ber national council to lead it. Tim Buck, national leader of the Communist Party of Canada greeted the youth at a banquet attended by 200. British Columbia was repres- ented by a large delegation. The decision to change the name came amid cheers from the delegates.
