16th Annual Feb. 27 to Mar. 6, 2005 Maitlardville @J Coquitiam AT BLUE MOUNTAIN PARK Diouf Saturday, March 5 at 2:20pm (Main Tent) Sunday, March 6 at 12:15pm (Main Tent) Diouf is two talented percussionists: brothers from Senegal, Both Karim and El Hadji demonstrated a passion for the djembes, sabars and tamas that were played at family gathering and special occasion. From that moment onward, the brothers have lived their passion for music. Since arriving in Montreal in 1996, they have collaborated with a veritable who’s who of the Quebecois music scene, from Dubmatique and Les Colocs to Roch Voisine, Loco Locass, Alpha Yaya Diallo and Ariane Moffatt to name only a few. In 2003 they released their first album, Dund, described by one critic as “an utterly accomplished world music album...an astonishingly rich ensemble sound.” Diouf’s stage show is an extension of the album: it features a wide variety of percussion instruments, of course, but also guitars, bass, kora and drum set. The result is driving rhythms, melodic lines, two voices lifting in harmony... and a passionate love of the stage. If you haven’t seen Diouf live, watch out — they only get better! www.diouf.ca AU PARC BLUE MOUNTAIN Diouf Samedi, 5 mars a 14h20 (grand chapiteau) Dimanche, 6 mars a 12h15 (grand chapiteau) Diouf, c'est l'histoire de deux fréres percussionnistes.
