Damages of approximately $70,000. to a home when the house was classified as a
total loss. Cause of fire is still under investigation. In my 30 years as a
fireman this fire was the most unpredictable and stubbomest fire to control.

Being an older type home it had been renovated a number of times and had an open
stairwell and many false walls and ceilings. A turkey bar fire caused by a faulty
heater burned a hole in the floor. 2 car fires with little damage caused by a.
flooded carburetor and wires shorting. One alarm in a school was caused by a faulty
component in the main control and the other 4 were by design, 3 in apartments and
.1.in a school. Ail four rubbish or miscellaneous fires had been set and all in the
same area. The R.C.M.P. are watching this area closely. .

39 Inhalator calls: 26 home emergencies consisting of heart attacks and chest pains,
falls causing injuries, patient hyperventilated, child with first and second degree
burns, child with a ring stuck on its finger and three cases of minors being
intoxicated. Attended 6 motor vehicle accidents and a man who had been hit by a car.
Three sport accidents. Unsuccessful suicide attempt, and treated a boy who blew part
of his hand off with a pipe bomb. 2 overdoses. .
